Kumudini Handicrafts centre was established in 1980 with the objective of supporting handicrafts. Kumudini Welfare Trust embarked on development of high quality handicrafts for export to the international market.
Kumudini has created an opportunity for unemployed women to earn income by working in their own home. Groups of women willing to work are formed on the basis of experience and skill. Such groups from all over Bangladesh get in touch with Kumudini through individuals, NGOs or other institutions. Where necessary, Kumudini arranges for training of group members. Kumudini has residential accommodation for women participating in such training programme.
