This is situated in the same premises as the National Museum, Colombo. This is also accessible from the Ananda Coomaraswamy Mawatha,, Colombo 7. This museum displays the natural heritage of Sri Lanka. The fauna or the mammals and birds are displayed in great detail. The Museum has sections on Applied Botany, Geology and Fossils, and Natural Environment. In the Discovery Room of the Museum a mounted skeleton of an elephant and scale model in relief showing the topography of Sri Lanka are found.
